Creating enriching facilities
from Nursery to High School

The Brigade School @ Mahadevapura is set in a 4-acre plot, conveniently located near Whitefield. The school campus comprises several buildings, designed in a contemporary architectural style, surrounded by landscaped gardens and sports facilities.

An overview
The infrastructure and facilities are of a high order, making student life a truly international experience. Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated; interiors intelligently planned. We have a generously and imaginatively stocked library and a 760-seat air-conditioned auditorium. A cafeteria-cum-tuck shop offers well-balanced meals and between-meal treats.

From Classrooms to 'Eureka Rooms'
As can be expected, students explore technology and the World Wide Web in suitably equipped computer rooms. They learn in large, well-equipped physics, chemistry and biology laboratories.

The school also has 'Eureka Rooms', which allow students to explore and understand abstract concepts in mathematics and science. By physically manipulating objects and actively exercising their senses, students are able to convert rules and laws, theories and formulae, into demonstrable realities. And once they 'get' the hows and whys, their natural curiosity, instincts and aptitude will flower.

We follow a similar approach to the learning of languages. We believe that to really come alive, language has to leap out from written pages and be heard, spoken and understood in different contexts. Which is why we have 'Language Alive' sessions. Enjoyment, comprehension, vocabulary and pronunciation benefit when students listen to Kannada songs by B.V. Karanth or travel to Venice by video, to watch Al Pacino playing Shylock. The same principle applies to the social sciences, where places, people and events gain a new dimension as they leap out of textbooks into the speakers and screens in our AV room.

Introducing the KNIB initiative
Our Knowledge and Information Bank (KNIB)* serves as a central repository of all education-related resources and information with respect to pedagogy, curriculum and training. KNIB is staffed by a dedicated team of qualified and experienced professionals and access to KNIB is open to all our schools. © Brigade Foundation.

More than aesthetics
Passive and interactive installations—of which wall encyclopedias are one example—are wrongly perceived as just being decorative. We have found them to be a wonderful method of effortless education. Many such installations have been set up in the school.

Sports
Sports facilities include a swimming pool and ample grounds / facilities for individual and group sports, including football, volleyball, basketball and kho-kho. Athletics also have pride of place, with spaces for track events, jumps and throws.
