Creating institutions of excellence
The Brigade School @ J. P. Nagar
As we mentioned earlier, we are the second school established by the Brigade Foundation. The first was The Brigade School @ J. P. Nagar—established in 2004 at the Brigade Millennium campus in J. P. Nagar, Bangalore. A co-educational institution following the CBSE curriculum, the school rapidly earned the reputation of being an institution of excellence. (The results speak for themselves: all the batches that have graduated from Std 10 and Std 12 have achieved 100% first class results.) The school currently has over 1100 students, spread across Pre-primary to Std 12. Find out more by visiting The Brigade School @ J. P. Nagar.

What parents say…
Parents of students at The Brigade School @ Mahadevapura and The Brigade School @ J. P. Nagar have written to us of their experiences and reactions to the school. We share their responses with you in the excerpts that follow…
About The Brigade School @ Mahadevapura:
The TBIS campus at Whitefield has really been planned well, with good aesthetics and functionality. The staff are very friendly and competent, with a blend of experience and youth. The children are amidst a very relaxed and refreshing environment which definitely fosters learning and personality development. We enrolled our daughter in the academic year 2009-2010 and she took to the school like fish to water and is really enjoying herself, especially the teaching methods which are very interesting and easy learning for her.
— Senthil & Iliya
The calm and level temperament of all teachers is respectful of students and yet places responsibility and accountability on them. Your management team’s constant engagement with us, as parents, around holistic development of our children has helped us understand and strengthen our relationship with them.
The overall culture at the school, which outwardly seems relaxed, is highly focussed and engaging and will provide firm grounding for our children in the years to follow.

About The Brigade School @ J. P. Nagar:
My children joined The Brigade School this year. My daughter is in Std XI and my son is in VI. I am delighted with the way this school really listens to the young students.
It is a school that encourages a student to be responsible for their own learning, and help plan out their studies and liaise with parents and tutors. Great communication and support is available at this school, easy access via email or phone to tutors and principal.
I like the praise system of points and the simple system that tells you what is not acceptable behaviour. Regular term reports and honour cards that allow for good attitude, attendance and work. Then the chance to discuss with the tutor any problems or issues regarding the students. All in all it is a well balanced school that thrives on the student being treated as an individual and allowed to grow and being treated as a young adult. Well done Brigade School, my children love studying in Brigade!"

As parents, we face a huge challenge when it comes to looking for a good school especially when we come from other metro cities. We believe the school is a building with 4 walls—"with the future of our child inside it". The Brigade Schools, we did find such an institution.
Our son has been a member of the Brigade family for two years and we are very happy to say that the principal and the faculty at the school pay individual attention to identify and develop the potential of the child. We have seen our son grow as an all-rounder, a complete and confident person ready to face the real life challenges.

It has been almost 18 months since we moved from the US to India. One of our main concerns was to find a nice school to help our only daughter Apoorva to transition into a good school that she will cherish to grow up learning with. We are particularly happy to confess that as parents, we take pride to partner with The Brigade School and confirm that it is certainly helping by being Apoorva's second home for learning.
Our experience has been really nice when we visited the lovely school premise early last year in 2007 and had the School Administration provide us complete guidance on admission rules and regulations. We instantly liked the fine facilities, clean building premises and were equally happy to later learn that the first batch of Std X students passed out 100% in flying colours, conducted by the CBSE.

Our sons, Nandan and Pranav are studying in the 4th and 1st Standards respectively. They have been here since the school opened. As parents, we are very pleased to see that the school provides an overall development for our children.
Apart from scholastic development, learning by doing projects, physical development through games, physical training and swimming, cultural development by having a theme for the year provide a balance that we appreciate. Most importantly, the kids enjoy going to school—the best tribute to the positive environment provided by the Brigade School.

The Brigade School provides for an excellent learning environment for my two children, with friendly and dedicated teachers and a good balance between extra curricular activities and academics.
— Purnima Sridhar
We have recently returned from the US and our younger daughter's first experience of formal schooling is at The Brigade School. She enjoys going to school and returns home with a smile on her face and lots of stories about her teacher and her classmates. We are very pleased with all the care and the attention offered by her teachers to make her feel happy in school.

When we saw the advertisement about the opening of The Brigade School about five years ago we considered checking it out based on the vision and programs they promised. The ideas were attractive and we felt that if they could be executed as promised it would definitely be a platform for the growth of our children. We trusted the promises and made a decision to put our two children in the school.
What we appreciate most about the school:
- Overall personality development—proportionate weightage to sports, academic, extra curricular activities.
- Well trained teachers who work hard at making the student understand the subject because of which children are independent as far as their studies are concerned. They are definitely more focused.
- Individual attention to each student. A nice rapport between the staff and students.
- Understanding and assessment of the students by their respective teachers have been precise and to the point.
- The children are encouraged to take up sports and other activities that they are interested in.
The school has grown in leaps and bounds by not only keeping the promises but also has added many child development programs as value additions. Needless to say there is a determined thinking process in the management and a dedicated teaching and other supporting staff to translate.

We are very happy that over the years Brigade School has provided a wonderful environment for the children to grow in multiple dimensions…Specifically, here are a few things about Brigade School that we have found noteworthy:
- A child has a good exposure and opportunity for all round development. The activities like various games, swimming, dance and music are part of the regular activities of the school. And for all these, the school has good facilities and very competent coaches and teachers. We would specifically like to mention that these activities are a part of the regular school day for every child, not as add-ons with extra pay.
- The China Project done by the students last year was excellent. It was very impressive to observe the students explain different aspects of China and many parents came away from the presentation better informed.
- The school has and makes use of their various labs and audiovisual facilities to make learning more interesting and deeper. I appreciate the teachers who take efforts to get relevant clippings and material from various sources.
- Well equipped and attractively kept facilities enhance the development process. Having a yoga room with differently coloured mats may be a small thing, but to a child, it is a happy place to be. To that list comes the general, inviting and well-designed ambience of the classrooms and various play areas.
- Equal opportunity to participation for each child—from the super-talented to the not so talented—in every competitive activity is another fact we deeply appreciate. Initial rounds of the competitions are done with every child participating. My son, who is not exactly a budding Van Gogh, is excited because he has to do a 'Diwali' theme painting for the art competition. I think that helps the child to be bold enough to attempt things in life without necessarily being discouraged about having to prove his or her superiority. The School Assembly is held in such a way that every child gets an opportunity to get on stage at least once in a year!
At Brigade School, our son has been blessed to have some very approachable and warm teachers all these years that to this day, learning has not been a chore or burden for him. We appreciate it that on occasions when his marks dip, the teachers have nudged him to do better, gently reminding him and us, that he has the potential to do better, without undue pressure.
All parents have dreams for their children, and we have too. And we believe that a good education is a foundation for achieving those dreams. We are very happy with the environment that Brigade School has provided for our son to grow and develop, and we appreciate the effort of all the teachers, staff and management in developing Brigade School into a school that provides excellent education. We wish Brigade School the very best and look forward to the school reaching for even greater heights in future years.
