Parents of students have written to us of their experiences and reactions to the school. We share their responses with you in the excerpts that follow…

Hi,

My daughters Tara and Nisha both go to Brigade school and we are so happy they do! We moved back in India after staying abroad for over 15 years and it's been a challenge at time to readjust to a growing/booming country. When it came to selecting a school, we as parents had few must-haves (1) The schools should have a good reputation (2) The teachers needs to be approachable and kind (3) There must be extra-curricular activities (4) The school should have strong guiding principles and most importantly the children should have fun!! The Brigade school met all these requirements and gave us plenty more to be grateful for!! We are so happy with the school's exemplary staff, the teaching methods, the clean, open breezy building and playground and the compassion of the teachers that we know we've made the right choice.

The teachers at the Brigade school are awe-inspiring. The care and affection that they hand out to the children every single day is so touching to witness. When I pick and drop my daughters off you can see the love that they are greeted with in school. It makes them want to rush in and guarantees the parents that their child will be safe and happy. I have been to other schools/playgroups where you can see exhaustion in the faces of the care-takers, rightfully so, but I've yet to see it in one of the teachers at Brigade. They are always smiling.

The sports day organized by the pre-primary teachers was unbelievable. To be able to get such tiny-tots to perform and let them have fun
while doing it was something to watch. The fact that the event started and ended on time (a rare achievement in India) and the enthusiasm of the children and the Staff was clearly evident. We took our daughter's 86 year old great-grand mother to watch the show and she was clapping from start to finish. Hats off to you all for that.

The Carnival was another fun event that the girls and us thoroughly enjoyed. The food stalls and games were nicely done and to know that the money was going to a worthwhile cause made it even more enjoyable. Again, the amount of effort taken by the teachers to ensure its success was commendable. In these hectic times, it was nice to spend a Saturday with our children and the teachers in school having fun and nothing else.

We also want to commend you on the well-conducted Parent-Teacher meetings that are held every quarter. I don't think we as parents have noticed so much about our own children as the teachers have. Their keen observations and write-ups on the children will be treasured. The amount that they make the child do in such a short duration in truly exceptional. It's hard to keep young children engaged and focused but these teachers have the talent to do just that! Our girls enjoy the Phonics classes and are perpetually singing some song or the other they have learnt in school. It's adorable to see them sing songs that also teach them the right pronunciations. Our daughters are half Maharastrian/half Kannadiga and it's absolutely delightful to hear them sing Marathi and Kannada songs, something we would never have been able to teach ourselves. The concept of highlighting a certain state and its cultural heritage every year is a great idea and very educational. The teaching style and methods used to impart knowledge is very well-done.

Finally, don't think we could end without thanking the Principal. We met her so many times when trying to get admission in the school, and she was always accessible and helpful. These days not many schools give you that access and I thank Principal Rao for that! She always made time to meet and hear out our issues. We thank her for her guidance and for making this school truly World-class.

Warm regards,

Aditya & Yamini Khandekar

Dear Principal,

It is indeed a pleasure to be a part of the Brigade School Community.

Both my kids (UKG and Nursery) go to school with a cheerful disposition and come back with interesting stories of their respective days.

I am particularly pleased with the way in which teachers deal with the kids in a kind, patient and encouraging manner.

I am also glad to see that a lot of care has been taken not to overwhelm them with work and keep the learning process fun & interesting without compromising on the content.

With warm regards,s

Lakshmi and Nikhil
Parents of Vasudha (Nursery) and Sudarshan (UKG)

Dear Mrs Rao,

Here's wishing you and all at Brigade School a Very Happy and Prosperous Deepavali.

I would like to take a moment here to appreciate the hard work that you and your teachers are putting in to groom the children.

We had put Ujwal in your school because it was closest to home and now it has become closest to his heart.

The last 4 years have been an enriching experience for him and am sure this journey will continue to be more rewarding in future.

With the nurturing and guidance given by you and your teachers am certain Ujwal will blossom into a bright ,intelligent and responsible citizen in the years to come.

Once again would like to thank you and your team in shaping Ujwal and the rest of the children at Brigade School.

Warm regards,
Gayatri

"Who dares to teach must never cease to learn." This is so very true of The Brigade School. I have been a parent of the school since six years now and truly am a very proud parent . In my journey of the past six years I have seen the school learning, exploring ,experimenting and evolving. This to me is the basic requirement of a school and this is met to it fullest @ Brigade. With the new Montessori system that has come in the school only goes on in developing life skills of independence, responsibility, ownership of material and space, respecting the learning at each one's space in children. This also address the need of the hour- that of holistic learning which was clearly seen at the Carnival held this year .The children here learn from their own learnings.

"I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework." Again this is something that teachers at the Brigade school surely do. There isn't just something just for the kids to take home but there is a lot that we as parents are learning too. Also "The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book." My children have enjoyed their relationships with their teachers all of these years and completely adore them. There is this magnetic field that the school creates for the kids that they just love to be there. It is a space that the kids find very close to their heart and cherish it.

Truly, a school where the team leads from the front. Our heart felt wishes to the school in each and every Endeavour that it undertakes.Very proud to be a part of the Brigade family.

Warm Regards

Dear Madam,

Our daughter, Gayatri Bhat is a student of your school at J. P. Nagar, currently in the LKG standard. This mail is to put on record our immense satisfaction in choosing The Brigade School. While Gayatri was in a pre-school prior to joining The Brigade School and hence had a certain skill set, I think she has improved tremendously after joining your school.

When I came for the first Parent-Teacher meeting at the school, I was told that kids would look forward to coming to the school. That has been the case with Gayatri—she enjoys coming to school and seems to have picked up a lot in terms of use of English language, diction and conceptual skills. I am particularly pleased to note the emphasis on Indian culture—case in point being the theme of 'Maharashtra' for the LKG students this year.

Here's wishing you and your school the very best.

Regards,
Lakshmipathy and Dr Padmini Bhat
